    Default Crap

So I discover yesterday evening a local sky rat has shat an elephant sized turd down the rear quarter of the GT4. I've cleaned it off as best I can but as the sun/heat has been on it the past day or two it seems to have damaged the lacquer/paint as I can still see a hazy mark where the crap was.

Any recommendations on how to remove it? I've tried a couple of different cuts (Megs ultimate paint cleaner and some G3), didn't make much difference. I'm tempted to try a bit of very fine wet n dry paper but don't want to make it worse

I've had similar, always seems to etch the paint on a black car if left even for a few hours.

I tried wet and dry as well and can still see the hologram from it in certain lights.

I use 3M Finnesse-It and it usually works.

If it's etched in, you might need to very lightly flat it and then polish it back up.
Bit of 2000 grit and some G3 will bring it up nicely.

Some times they have some much acid in their systems it just burns in.

First of all as obvious as it sounds,do not scrub at it,crap can contain some serious contaminants,i have seen the results of somebody scrubbing and believe me i could see primer!!

Out of direct sunlight, put a dabble of milk on it to neutralise the acidics........... then rinse off after a few minutes!

Next up.... soak a microfibre cloth in water, lay it over the bird crap for 10,minutes...... After this time pinch the cloth around the droppings with your fingers and pull up and away from your paintwork to lift the muck away from your car, rather than wiping the muck across the pain.

    rinse,see how that looks.

for the love of god dont go sanding it,not yet anyway!!!

P.S that is removing the remaining contaminants from the crap,if it has damaged the lacquer, the last thing you want to do is go sanding or polishing,as the edge(if damaged clearcoat) can spread and flake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The wet n dry was always going to be a last option

I did get the crap off (before posting this), used the warm cloth and plenty of water, but it seems to have damaged the paint as there's a mark left behind that I can't seem to remove with the cut products I tried.

I did think clay bar but not sure if that would do anything?

Clay would lift the poo, but not the damage under.
