1600 sv carb engine

Hey all,

After some advice, currently have a 1600 sv carb engine off early cav etc in my nova and stripped the twin 40 inlet and webers off it for my GTE project. Was just wondering what other set up will work as a replacement. Will 1400nv nova set up work?

Will the 1.4 inlet fit and carb run the 1.6 ?

they share the same rectangular ports, and both run the pierburg 2e carb.

should work fine if the carb was tweaked for slightly richer mixture. theres only about 7 bhp difference between the 14nv and 16sv

if the 16sv's running a standard cam, youll probably need a 1.4sr ignition setup (if you don't already have one that is), as it runs a pin-drive (well.. mine did anyway. was out of a mk2 astra tho, but same engine)
