Default Mk2 golf vr6 rieger gto old skool project

Hi all not been on here for a while now been quite busy and my nova has been pushed aside unfortunately .
I have been doing something of similar interest (for some), I am doing this for a mate as he couldn't find anyone else who would touch it so being young and still enthusiastic I agreed to take it on . He has owned the car for nearly 20 years now and its been sat in a barn for the majority of that time until now. The body-kit was purchased from Germany about 16 years ago and apparently was the last one available, not sure how true this is personally but anyway my friend attempted to fit the kit himself and painted it many years ago but it was terrible and I mean terrible so was left in the barn and forgotten about. I've been working on it for about 2 months now 2 evenings a week so roughly 8 hours a week so not getting anywhere fast really but here goes

before I started work on it - it looked like this

Great project, I have a soft spot for reiger kits and mk2 golfs. All very 90's.

    Bringing back them memories
That I really miss when I reminisce

hi again next set of pics coming up and I'd better explain a few things here as it looks a mess because it is so engine is fitted now and the same person that fitted engine managed to talk my mate into lambo doors and said he would supply and fit the hinges only problem is he has welded universal lambo door hinges onto shell and then welded doors to the hinges Thanks mate my job has been made ten times harder love it. I don't think he knew you can get hinges especially for a mk2 golf, this has now created 2 problems for me number one is doors are now a permanent fixture now making prep and paint harder but the worst of the problems is the hinges foul the front wings and now they don't fit or in other terms they fit when door is closed but you cant open the doors without smashing wings to bits. fortunately I have a cunning plan to overcome this problem any way pics are better than words

    engine in

smoothing in inner door apertures as these are very visible now with the new lambo doors

more pics of finished area after Monday (that's when I'm next at lock-up)

    any way onto the wings
custom vents cut into them to allow the lambo hinge movement then pop rivet strong mesh into desired shape and use fibre glass matting and resin to make shape flush and to look like its supposed to be their
