I have an mbe sitting on a car in the garage. This might persuade me to do something about stripping it. I can check type etc tomorrow if your still interested. It's fitted to an 1.6 on std plenum/injection. I think that was a bit of a special but from memory the ecu was std. Been a while since I did anything with it.

A guy on the vx forum has a dta exp48 for sale, its got a vw harness but I'm sure you could sell that
