    Default wiper arm connection

Hi. My drivers side wiper keeps popping off the linkage. Its a ball and socket joint. The socket just falls off when wipers have been on for a few seconds.

Vauxhall have discontinued the parts, but they didn't shed much light on what was needed, or if I have something missing.

    Any ideas?

i had this happen back in the olden days... at a ton on the autobahn near dusseldorf..... only the drivers side stopped working in a cloudburst... once i'd got the car safely on the hard shoulder & managed to get rid of the pooey smell, i managed to get some more life out of the joint using a small punch & a hammer & peened some little dents round the outside of the socket hole, tightening it up. i got the car back to the uk a week later, bought a scrapyard linkage as a spare, ready to fit it but never got round to it & it lasted about 18months until i got the car written off in a misunderstanding with a cavalier.

Yeah glad I wasn't going too fast as it was bloody chucking it down! It seems that the socket part is a plastic insert - will fiddle once the wife sods off to work haha

I squashed the end together a little to stop mine popping off.
