I agree, do a relay bypass and see if the engine starts. If it does then replace the relay

Does the relay get the 12v feeds it needs? Does the relay click at all? Does it prime when you put the ignition on?

The car worked fine about 3 years ago when I stored it and have been replacing with new parts gradually as I go along and now the fuel pump wouldn't prime with ignition on when connected to fuel relay but will work when connected direct to the battery and relay does' not click at all...??

Have you or you should check the earths all of them pump ecu engine as in 3 years they could have corroded and bad earth on ecu can cause that plus additional one to the engine if you only have the gear box one. Got pics of that loom here will pm them over

the 20xe doesn't prime with the ignition on, the ECU will only turn on the fuel pump when it sees a signal from the crank sensor (which will only happen when you turn the engine over)
