There will of course be the usual doubtors but the DVLA figures for September 2015 are as follows.
which I believe to be fairly accurate
NOVA SR
Sept 15 inc NI........... 151
Sept 15 excl NI............ 136
Sept 14 excl NI ........... 134


Licensed SR's have been falling 15% - 20% year on year....
except this quarter where a very small increase in numbers.
Of the ones I know of , many very low mileages between MOT'S.
Typically 1-2 K
Some less than 10 miles per annum
Highest annual mileage 12K

The latest DVLA indicate that there are more Licenced SR's on the road at 31 December 2015 was than there were the previous December.

Significant increase in SR's on the road this year up from 123 to 145 - reversing some of the fall in previously years. First 10K SR this year also.

Overall a small reduction in novas licensed but significant increases in higher spec models (Sport/ SR/ GTE/ GSI/SRi) and big falls in some base models (merits etc)

There are some the surviving SR's with tax and MOT with ridiculous low annual mileages (some with less than 100 miles per annum)

I only put a few hundred miles a year on mine, I'd probably use it more if I worked somewhere with safe parking, as it stands its just the occassional sunny weekend use. I guess it makes driving it even more special
