Licensed SR MK 1
I have compiled some details some facts regarding LICENSED MK1 NOVA SR’s which I hope you find interesting
It is something of an update of my previous (“109”) thread on this matter which I started two years ago out of curiousity and resulted in a number of very interesting replies and me compiling a list of some of the remaining SR’s. Thankfully as numbers fall the job of tracking the few remaining SR’S left becomes manageable. It has only really possible with internet to find vehicles – lots of Information from PNG/ facebook/ Ebay………. etc……….. etc.
The history - - Original Models
Mk 1 1.3 (launched April 1983
- 1.4 (Launched October 1989)
Mk 2 1.4 (Launched November 1990)
With a very small number of exceptions All 1983 – 1989 inclusive were supplied as 1.3 and all 1990 are 1.4
Recent DVLA figures (1.3/1.4)

Total SR figures (ie Mk 1 and mk 2 ) published each quarter but do not provide the split by year (which the December only figures do)
There are a number of vehicles that are not included in the above but well be roadworthy
1 SORN (December will always be the lowest month for licenced cars because of winter)
2 Unlicensed for a number of reasons, including
- Pre SORN requirements
- Pre certificate of destruction requirements
- Late license renewals
- Cars in Northern Ireland
- Cars held by trade (resale/ scrap) temporarily
