^^ I have done man. Found a couple of brokers but the cheapest was 2.6k with 7 years NCB and I've held a full clean licence for the last 6 years, crazy prices. I know loads of people that have all sorts of mods but none of them are declared. I don't like the idea of undeclared mods, sooner stay ligit in case the worst were ever to happen.

I'll try get a few quotes for the 1.6 and weigh up my options.

Thanks for your help Benn, appreciate it.

well....i tried graham sykes, sky, on a "mirror" quote and 1500 miles a year on classic!! was like £300, to £450!!! Its a mk2 1.4 SRI!! Phoned adrian flux and they said again on "mirror" insurance at 3000 miles full comp, without being able to drive other cars, it was only £194, bare in mind i am 32 with no history or points!!! Guessing your getting the age disscount if u have had insurance for 14 years alex?? 280 dont seem that bad as its a 2.0 PLUS insurance companies do put it up if the car is modded. Plus its a nova 2.0 which means it wont be hanging about!!!

The way i look at it i can insure a 400bhp cosworth for £280 fully comp so a shonkt nova worth 10 times less shouldnt cost more imo

I went back to Adrian Flux stating that A-plan have quoted me £440 and after a few minutes being on hold Adrian Flux magically were able to match that quote.

Thats how it is for me every year. I still recommend Sky therefore.

Bugger all matters bar NCB. That's what gets the cost down.
All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one Pepsi
    Far from suicidal
    Still I get them tendencies
    Bringing back them memories

^ Yep, NCB is the most valuable but its also worth mentioning how long you've owned the car; I noticed a lot of insurers drop the price if the purchase date was a few years ago compared to <1 year or 'not bought yet'.
