Might pop down later in the day to say "Go Team Shonky go go go" as have my motor in for mapping in the morning with the new fuelling stuff on. Hopefully it'll be given a clean bill of health before we all hit Blyton on 18th Sep. I hope you're camping on the Sat evening at Blyton as I want a hug before bedtime.

So a few experiments have been going on in preparation for Mallory on 2nd and Blyton on 18th.

Brake temps have been boiling fluid, so attempt at some cooling.

Just need to make a plate to mount to the caliper bracket, it's directed into the vanes of the disc, could work, worth a go atleast, just need to repeat it on the passenger side. Clears the wheel easily and it's as direct as I could get it, with as few bends as possible.

Few other things have gone on, bolt check all round and standard track day prep.

Sneak pics of the new rear disc beam

Postman pat van rear discs and calipers, beam ready for the ARB to be mounted on and a few other little extra bits and bobs. Might even work!!

Roll on Mallory, looking forward to this one!! 4 novas on track!!

The vx folks have used a plate with ducting to blow air into the vanes with a modicum of success. Sadly they aren't made anymore so it's not off the shelf

Fear not, I shall retire to my love dungeon and construct a little something, will be easy enough and I'm sure the caliper mounting bracket can take an M6 bolt tapped into it to hold it. That's this weekend's job.

Having looked at a lot of brake cooling option (pictures) I think this will be a decent option.

nice welds on the rear beam! did put some extra camber on it?

are you gonna leave the crank pulley like that(2 bolts..)?

Rear beam has been squared in both planes, camber and toe, adjustment will be made with Ezi Shims and toe stability will be achieved with some rather special additions!! And I wish I could take the credit on the welds, sadly not!! They've been done by someone who can actually weld!!!

Alternator pulley has 3 bolts in it mate, it's been that way since I built it 18 months ago!! New engine has been fully drilled with 6 though.

Looking good ,it will be interesting to see how you get on with your brakes ,I have a suspicion that my braking issues are more rear related than front ,what rear discs and calipers are you useing ?

you are gonna use the volkswagenmotorsport setup for the toe stability on the rear axle then? i want to make my own axle like that, so love to see what you will do with yours

that pulley has 6 bolts in an strange pattern, if you move the disc arount you will see that it will fit on all six bolts

My next job is a rear beam like Ben's too, it's a great mod. Just got slightly more pressing matters at the moment so it keeps going onto the back burner.
