That I really miss when I reminisce
So, in preparation for PVS, now that my wheels work again, I thought I'd have a little run out and get filled up with fuel, so into the Shell, for a bit of Optislaps.
I always use this garage, they all know me, it's halfway between me and Brands Hatch and I like the roads on the way. So I get out, open the boot, lift the nozzle and wait and wait and wait and wait. 4 minutes and 28 seconds go by, epoxy resin fanny is staring at me out the window shaking her head, being the calm rational guy I am, I proceeded inside and asked stainless steel pants what her boggle was.
She informs me that containers cannot be filled whilst still inside the car. I pointed out it's the fuel tank and it's fixed in, sloppy minge said if it doesn't come out then I can't fill up here.
This, as you can imagine, yanked my plank, I drove straight home, jumped in the Passat and smashed down to CBS, £220 later
So, start off by cutting down the 90 elbow to get it lower than my intended filler position
Check it looks right
Reasonable, next was the filler location, brief chat with Iain, this seemed logical,
Cut out and 5mm holes drilled ready to install
Looks alright, it was £60, lockable, I wasn't gonna pay £140 for the top of the range one, this one does the job
Hose cut to feed it, reasonably happy with it, tank might be moving soon anyway depends how I feel!!

After all my attempts at finding something to float in my level tube, I suddenly thought........wood!!!!!!
Hopefully my dash level sender is at my wife's work waiting for her tomorrow, don't think it'll be in before the weekend but i'll see, the tank is full now and CBA with emptying it!!!
Ordered a new FPR with some AN-6 fittings on it, something I've been meaning to do for about 12 months!!! Get rid of those bloody push on fittings

nice to see you placed the fillerneck in this position, I was planning on mounting my fillerneck just like that !
don't really like the silicone hose, I got my self one of these:
do you have any kind of rollover safety in the de fuelcell? in case of an accident you want the fillerneck to block off so the fuel doesn't leak in to the drivers compartment
He has rollover protection in the form of not going over 40mph on track
I spoke with CBS about the rollover device, the filler neck is sealed so in the event of a rollover fuel shouldn't be able to get into the cabin, but I'm working on a solution.
I did look at the flexi hose and liked it but CBS could only supply it in 500mm lengths and were out of stock today!!! I would have paid double for the black silicone hose but they were also out of stock!!!
The blue will do, I'm trying to fit in with all the Arden Blue Astras at PVS!!!

Tidy job. Which FPR did you purchase? I only ask as I bagged myself a Fuelab 51502-1, proper nice piece of kit. Nothing wrong with push on fittings you posh git.
