Had a day off school today so decided to get some stuff done.

Dash out, all wiring out, getting renewed, haeter matrix gone, blower fan ditched.

Made an attempt at fitting my new pedal box.

Similar to seat mounts, I added a load plate to the tunnel.

Then bridged across the car with some 3mm flat bar I had in stock

Then offered the pedals up and worked out where the top mount needed to be

Made a little bar up to span the top

Added a spreader plate in for the top onto the bulkhead, didn't feel it need on on the left hand end.

Pedals drilled and tapped with 6mm fixings for now to facilitate easy set-up and cable running, clutch cable attached and working, same with the throttle. Just the lines to make a start on now!!

As I've ditched the heater I plated the hole and have decided to mount the resoviours there, not straght yet, need to remove it all for painting anyway!!

Need a 90 elbow to make the hoses neater out of the reoviours.

Engine needs to come out so I can run the new lines across the car properly and plate up the old servo hole. I'm looking for a portable snad blaster so I can blast the bay and re-paint it.

It has to be a plate diff, most of them are good, I use a Tran-x on my tarmac rally car.
ATB's don't lock the diff to giving you two wheel grip but transfer the power from one wheel to the other.

Yeah I had a chat with a guy at Donny Saturday about this very thing, I'm not decided yet!! I've just had a look at the quaife Tran X one and there are loads of options on ramp angles and pre-loads, any advice?!

Also, having read through Lee303's project on MIG he's changed the plates 2 or 3 times, that puts me off a little, how do you find them for wear?!?

I like the ATB fit and forget idea!!!

    Pics to do the talking.

Started at 9.30, by 11.15 engine was on the trolley in the garage.

Was easy really, dropped all the suspension out as well, so that can be cleaned and painted, need to pate the wishbones and then get them powder coated along with the suspension and driveshafts. Next jobs include removable slam panel, degrease and clean everything up then paint the bay again.

Pretty tidy under there, nothing to really cause any concern, will be degreased and then undersealed.

Decent pedal box welding penetration!! happy with that.

First time in 18 months it's been left outdoors and under the cover!!

All the bits in the garage ready to be cleaned and checked, think I found what my whirring noise was, passenger inner CV pulled apart when I took the hub off!!

    Thanks mate,

Elf called Quaife today to ask about a plate diff, having heard our applications they told him to stick with his ATB as he wouldn't feel the benefits of a plate over an ATB in what we do.

I'm don't know what to do, got a few months before I've got to decide!!!

OF COURSE Quaifa are going to tell you that, they would be bloody stupid to say anything other, it's like phoning Piper cams and asking if they think a Kent cam is better for your car !!!! what answer do you think the will give you ?
