Few pictures from our first outing at an evening session at Brands with Liam and Conor and a few other lads.

    ,

Was pretty happy with how it handled and the brakes held up for the 12 or 13 laps we completed.

Oil temp peaked at 110 degrees but stayed pretty stable, same with water temps, oil pressure was never a problem.

The issue came when I stopped for a mars bar and a packet of prawn cocktail crisps.

Came back to the car to find a puddle of oil underneath the passenger side below the sill.

After a quick think I worked out it was coming from the direct to atmosphere breather that I've tucked down in-front of the front wishbone pivot point.

It then dawned on me that when I had the cam cover painted I refitted it without swapping over the modified breather plate (school boy error).

I decided to call it a day as I didn't want to cover the track in any more oil, got home and dumped it in the garage!! Modded the breather last night and blatted down to the coast this morning with the newly modified cam cover and catch can.

Finally a little family line up at the coast this morning.

Brands again on 19th for an evening session and then Cadwell with Iain and Harvey on the 24th. Hiring a flatbed Sprinter to drive up to Cadwell incase it dies up there!!!

I did wonder if I'd eaten salt and vinegar crisps and a toffee crisp it would have created an alternative reality in which the car hadn't leaked oil!!!

Nice to see your car hitting the track after an interesting build, good job done I'd say.

Loving the oil catch tank, especially the fitting kit.. Still at least you can see how much oil is coming out, unlike most of the shiny aluminium jobbies on the market...

Enjoy it and try and keep it out of the barriers.

Thanks Mr Tall, barriers are not my friend!!

Benn, due to that being my first session and my first attempt at track driving I didn't record anything but we have a little plan for the next one and there will defo be videos from Cadwell, if I can string a reasonable lap together!!

Your car looks really good, wish I'd have done trackday when I had my last Nova.

Do you have a quickrack fitted? I found it to be one of the better mods for handling with the 888's I had when blasting about on back roads
