Hi
does anyone happen know what the torque settings would be for putting back on the sump. I've just got a new gasket and don't want to over tighten!
Any advice would be great!

Off top of head 15nm rings a bell, I usually tightrn across corners and nip down using wellseal on the gasket
personally, I reckon the overtightening of sump bolts is the major cause of leaks. it knackers the gaskets.
also, not making sure the inside of the block is clean enough is a major failure.
I agree on wellseal, it could stick a politician to a scandal..
IMO, the main cause of sump leaks is when people have used gasket compound in the past. You have to make sure all the bolt holes are clear of the compound. The gasket compound gets in the bottom of the hole and you cant torque the bolt properly because its compressing the compound.
I dont think you can over tighten a gasket as such because it has the metal washers in the gasket. As long as all the torques of the bolts are even and the bolts arnt over loose or so tight they will sheer. Im not sure what an xe gasket is like but this is the case with the SE's
