Default Modify as you go policy?

Is there such thing? Ie if I buy a car, and decide to add wheels, engine mods as I go say 3 months down the line, is there a company that's not gonna rape me £40 for every alteration?

My mate reckons he had his Triumph Dolly insured in a similar way.
He had free reign to do what he liked, provided he didn't exceed a certain power limit.
If he did, the price jumped up to the next band.

I have never heard of such a thing myself. It is open to so many variables.

It may have been a classic policy. Want me to ask him who it was through?

Brentacre are excellent for that. No admin fees for modifications and mid-term adjustments just keep ringing up and telling them.

On mine they added a BHP limit and I could do anything I wanted under that. They set it to 170BHP for my XE, so I added cams and a chipped ECU mid term, OK they tried to argue it should have been a 150BHP limit and they got it wrong but they honoured the original terms.

We can cater for this but we do need to know what you are going to be fitting mid-policy from policy inception. If you give us a list of planned modifications at quotation or renewal stage then we can note these for future fitting date.

Sorry to tap onto your post, but ive looked at their site and they seem good company. Theres no admin charges for cosmetic changes but does the insurance cover price change ?
I understand the "staying in bhp limit" .. But I just wondering if you stick to the designated bhp band and put coilovers, alloys and that on, does the policy price change at all.

    Thanks for any info
