Default Bringing paint back with wet and dry...

I have a flame red nova, don't think it's been polished much in its lifetime but always garaged ect, anyway I gave it a clay bar and t-cut and it came up OK. But it's still not vibrant red and I was thinking of wet sanding with 2000 grit or 2500 grit to revive the paint before compounding.

    What do you think?

T-cut is too dry,the paint needs replenished after a compound or it will fade in days! 3M fast cut plus on the green 3M compound pad, followed by 3m extra fine with the 3M yellow pad wil be sufficient enough to compound out the broken molecules and replenish the paint to a wet look finish, after those 2 stages are done i would follow up with a good sealent, auto finesse's sealent is what i would recommend.

You shouldn't need to flat it back.

Just polishingi t will bring the paint and colour back... As above from there^^

Factory 20 year old paint wont be very thick...
