    Default spray guns

im looking at buying a half decent gravity fed spray gun, ttheres loads on the market but I don't really know what makes 1 better than another. I understand the whole nozzle size thing, but that's about it really. if I list the ones I have in mind can people give me the pro's and con's of them and your experience if you've owned one... cheers guys

When I was looking at getting one, it was devilbiss gti or iwata WS forget the exact numbers, or the gti pro and whatever the expensive Iwata is if you wanna spend a bit more, I was looking at 2nd hand for more gun for the money. Sata are meant to be the dogs bollocks for clearcoating but more fragile and require more care.

I've got a cheap clarke with a 1.8 tip for primering and planned to try and get a gti pro on a badly listed auction or something for colour/clearcoat.

so basically everyones pushing towards the devilbiss, trust it to be the most expensive. I know you get what you pay for with things, I just don't know the difference between good/bad. hopefully nick j notices the thread as novasport suggested.

devilbiss are good because everyone uses them, so spares are relatively cheap and easy on ebay etc, but then you pay more for the gun, Iwata are meant to be just as good but do go for similar-ish money but parts aren't as easy... swings and roundabouts really.

I went from a £15 gravity gun to a £200 divilbis gti. It was worth every penny in my opinnion.

i used a £15 ebay one to paint my E30...but now im doing wheels all the time after work i bought that one in your post. The Devilbiss SLG. with a pressure regulator and watertrap it works perfectly at 60psi. Heres the finish ive managed to get in a cold, dusty warehouse.
