    Default Sand blasting

A friend has said he can get me a blasting gun from work to connect straight to my compressor, but there's no sand/shot. I've seen some stuff on eBay but it's fine grade and says the material needs to be oil/grease free. As I want to do my bay and under the car its going to be pretty grubby... Can anyone tell me what I'll need?

There is a fella in Ellesmere Port that'll do your bay for about £100 in crushed glass or soda and he said to me it'll only take four hours whilst you wait

Soda doesn't work on rust or corrosion of any sort, or sealer or heavily soiled oil deposits,

    I've tried it
success is only limited by a weak mind

    Ah. ****ter.

I only suggested it, as shot etc can be harsh on thin gauge steel.

    what sort of gun??

    what cfm compressor.

we had a truck sand blasted. they used a road compressor. it had 65hp & fed a 1" pipe. the gun was linked to a hopper that we fed 25kg bags of media into....

those cheap ones that look like a car spray painters gun are ok for small spots that need a clean up... but useless on anything sizeable

I've not actually seen the gun yet but he says it looks like a spray gun. I was going to wire wheel it all first then finish it with the blaster. My compressors got 11cfm free air flow. I'm not expecting it to be easy or perfect, but it's worth a shot (pun intended )

If it looks.like a apray gun it may just be a 'spot blast' gun.

    Waste of time.
