    The wire from the altenator to the engine is a must have item, if its snapped or not conected your battery will not charge, the battery light will still go out as normal with the engine running tho, it's a sneaky fault that catches many folk out.

    Seeing how the whole engine requires a steady electrical feed it could easily play up with a dying battery.

    The noise from the engine? How did that sound?

    uncle bazil your some guy , new ones ordered sounded like a tractor haha mind u my downpipe was blowing so that contibuted to things

    Oil/Water mix on the oil cap isnt bad enough for a headgasket failure IMO
    Probably just damp from short drives and cold weather.

    Get the earth fixed and then go from there, might just be a simple dizzy/coil fault!
