Default theres holes in my car :(

    hello all
as the mot is due next month I though id give the nova a once over to see if all is ok and found a few things that I didn't really want to find, drivers sill has two fair size holes front chassis rusted through and both rear inner arches have gone
so in two minds weather to repair it or try and find a clean shell and start again or break it and buy something different. not really got the time to repair it at the moment.
if I did repair it will be coming off the road and will need rear arches ,sill ,doors, wings , chassis repaired so where the best place to get panels from these days?
don't really know what to do

    cheers ben

There are too many questions and not enough welding going on in this post.

Just been through this with mine. Mot time and needed 3 plates again. But no chance of me scrapping it as it's a great car apart from needing a few plates! Way I look at it is keeps another one on the road. eBay is good for panels but chassis repair panels are no longer avalible so have to be fabricated unfortunately.

Depends how much you like the car, remember most holes get worse. But if you can weld then you can fix... If not start looking for a clean shell local too you that you can swap bits over on too...

you have given me a brilliant idea.. next time someone gets pulled over for having really dark tints, they should point out that it is actually a welding mask

Buy a Ford of the same age to get more of an idea what quite serious rot is .

I know of a lad replacing both A pillars, scuttle, rear legs, inner wings, inner arches, floorpans, inner and outer sills, rear panel, roof skin and obviously front panel, doors, bonnet, tailgate, outer arches wings etc on a mk3 Escort at present.

    Show your Nova some love!

With this throw away and get a new shell attitude, they won't be readily available for much longer.
It makes me laugh when people cry that they are getting more expensive - this is the main reason.
