    Question E16SE cambelt which one?

A friend has a e16se in his mini and is in need of help. Its been a while since I looked at a small block and need some guidance. He's currently running a tensioner (late e16se). Can he remove the tensioner and use the early shorter belt then tension on the water pump?

The tensioner spat its dummy out and sheered off this evening...

    Cheers folks
    Chris

Do you know the no of teeth on the belt?

My old gte's never had tensioners but wasn't sure if pulleys were different on versions that did. Haven't seen a small block in 5 years :-(

    Cheers chaps!

Sorry to be impatient, anyone know which belt to run? 104 and 111 are listed.

The one on my gte doesnt have a tensioner as its an earlier engine,im pretty sure it will be the shorter belt you need.i'll try and check for you later.

I was going to suggest it was the shorter of the 2 but I know some motor factors can funny about returning things.

pretty sure i put a 111 tooth belt on a carbed version of the 1600 (16SV)
    that was non-tensioned.

    I think my 1300 takes a 104
