Custom radiator arrived which looks the business but it needs some slight alterations

We stripped the struts down and welded them up, tested them through the travel on the car and had to make some further changes

We then after looking at the strut design on other cars decided to try a different route to improve things
Looked at the setups on newer Hondas and then Renaultsport cars, Megane 225 being the easiest to come by

Removed spring collars to turn into a coilover setup

Did not document progress from here all that well but see below different iterations

What are the benefits of that over a Nova knuckle?

What have you been trying to improve in regards to suspension geometry??

Seems like a huge amount of work for possible gains over a proven available adjustable suspension kit.

We can get between +1 and -3 degrees camber and 5 degrees of caster with out kits. Admittedly bump steer is still an issue but are working on that.

Interesting read thanks. So in short:

"By positioning the steering axis closer to the wheel center, a major cause of torque steering, the amount of center offset, was drastically reduced."

So this is all about reducing torque steer rather than giving extra geometry adjustment. You find the torque steer particularly bad on your test days?

    Correct!
It wasn't terrible but this will hopefully help eliminate as much as possible

Further developments with the new setup

    Bells and discs arrived

Now to check again that there are no rubbings etc

Just need to get the Corolla off the ramp to get back into it
