    Default Hi SPEC 4POTS

    hi

opinions based on facts about hi-spec brakes

was thinking of a 280mm 4 pot set

or those AP ones that reyland do/did, 300mm but saw them under a set of allesio 2 wheels before?

just think its a better mod than the 288v6 set up

I'd go for AP if you can get hold of a set.

i have some brembos but engineers n welders seem reluctant to help me make them fit or even make a bracket

they were mated to a Honda integra 2003 DC5 which came with 300mm discs but sure hey could suit the 288 V6 discs or maybe even the 4stud corsa C discs?

I found some Brembo calipers for good money last year & then looked around for what disks could be used; if you're making brackets & sourcing disks then try to work out how big you can go.

Fairly sure you can get 308's inside a 16" rim as I'm on 337's from an Insignia [17s], but not the 2 piece type.

Sometimes asking an engineer to design AND make something can be off putting; try to get the calipers & disks, then start putting them on a detached steering knuckle and trial fitting the wheel. I made a template from this out of ally box & just handed it over to my machinist to mill down in billet. Often it's better not to even complicate the situation by telling them the function.

It can take a fair amount of work taking metal off wheel / calipers when going for extremes, but it's worth it I think.
