number plate legal people

need to ditch the plate on the front of my car,
open up the cooler a little, (seeing as im kepping it and going for 350-400bhp)

iv been reading into the getting a square plate and putting in on the side,

all i can find is sqaure front plates on 'show' sites, whats the legal plate size, as theres millions on there

Direct.gov site has the legal sizes....

im reading 11" x 8" thats massive

You could always go for an import sized plate which is 12" x 6"

there getting done for having import plates on uk cars

even the stick on bonnet ones, are now illegal

Aslong as the font is legal size and the white part is of legal size away from the font you can cut it down as small as possible. Job done.

MOT doesnt mention it and if i test one aslong as its readable from 20 metres its ok!

Can be any size so long as you keep to the required character height with a 10mm 'white space' round that.
