Can i ask, are your vents pressed in from the top? So there smooth on the outside... If so do you have a good pic of the bonnet? As i fancy some...

The bonnet was done for me by Cool Louvers, from what I remember the are pressed through from the bottom, I had to remove a section of the centre brace for the rear ones. The front outer pair curve backwards whilst the set in the centre at the back face forwards to collect and channel air down over the throttle body air filters.
Thanks for the ink Martin was not even sure if they were still about! pleased they are as they did a great job on my bonnet.

I also watched Clarkson Full throttle today, really enjoyed hearing your nova in surround sound, don't think the neighbours did though

Good times John, ah the benifit of having the rolling road
Yes Iain tis a very useful thing to have.
What with Christmas etc the Sport sat idle for a bit, however early Jan I sent the injectors to Webcon to flow test and check and they tested perfectly:
The mine are the first 4 from the left the last one on the right is a brand new one, as you can see nothing wrong there with the flow.
The nice people at Webcon sent me an ECU to try just to eliminate this and still no change.
So back to the drawing board I must have missed something. After a bit of a think I realised that whilst I had drowned the inlet and throttle body flanges spraying from above with carb cleaner to find a leak, I had not done so up from underneath the bodies etc and low and behold found a leak, its only small but hopefully enough to cause my lean mixture problem. So off with the throttle bodies and inlet manifold and good clean down of all old gasket debris. Then its just a case of enlarging the standard gaskets to match the larger ports on the Swindon head and manifold.
Throttle bodies off

Fingers crossed.

Jon, it's great to read you have recovered the Sport. Excellent.
Back in 2001 when I was over at your workshop, you took me out for a spin in the Sport, still in its VBH-livery. To say I was stunned would be an understatement, I just couldn't stop grinning from the wee passenger ride you gave me on Fenlandshire's finest back roads. What a blast!!!
I remember you asking me what to do with the Sport back then; either restore it to original condition, or leave it as it was at the time. I was in a bit of a dilemma and couldn't think of what would be best.
Fast forward 12 years and if being asked the same question, I'd now say "Sport with a few subtle mods", with a VBH-replica created next to it to commemorate a great adventure.
Anyway, good luck with your Sport and keep us posted. Love it!
One day I'll start a build thread. One day...
Wow I'd had forgotten that Niek, was that when you stayed the night at ours when the diff adjuster seized?
Yea Lee keeping them very crossed.
