ep 80w/90. its about 1.8 litres for a complete change. the filler is on the shifter box & the level plug is behind the diff on the lhs. put a catch pot under it, undo it & slowly pour some in, then leave it for ages to let the gooey stuff find its own level... its a slow & smelly job

don't be fooled with that 'oh, in our work, we always use atf' cobblers..... yeah, it pours in quickly & is good for a 3month warranty....nothing more

    24months actually.
Gearboxes only need low viscosity oils,as thicker ones make for clunky changes.

andy, if atf was good for manual gearboxes, it would be specced from new. it is not.

I have always used ATF in f20s, a few on let's too, absolutely nothing wrong with using it.

Its not a complex box and it doesn't need anything else. If you we're tracking it, or if it were a high revving engine, then I would use something else. For a standard set up its more than up to the job.

Castrol syntrans is good stuff fully synthetic multigrade.Id be sceptical about atf as It's not specced for the box. Would you stick 0w30 oil in a LET?
