Definitely put one on, that lovely cam pulley will get battered up if not, it doesn't take much.

Awesome work as per Keith...... Regarding the covers could you not speak to someone like toovey/swindon to have a similar guard made up? I know they do them for the xe/let but unsure about small blocks etc.

    Nick.

Hi Nick, that sounds like a good idea, I'll have a ring around next week and see what I can find.

I'd take that with a pich of salt.... i know a few guys who work in tweeks (i live in wrexham) and they're a bunch of idiots. im sure he's done a great job but dont let him fool you, a turd is still a turd even if its covered in glitter.

Hi Conad, I live in Mold, I know what you mean about tweeks there basically sales people in the shop and I do feel that they can be quite patronising at times, the lad who did
the body work worked for a firm that prepared their cars so didn't actually work for them direct. The firm who carried out the work has a very good reputation, so no need to worry.

    Thanks Keith

Great work on this since I last looked. You have done the car proud.
What does your sister think? Has she seen the progress on her old car?

Hi guys, thanks very much Craig, really pleased that people seem to like the way I've gone with this, my sister loves the fact that the car has been saved after having it
for over 20 years, don't think I'll be letting her drive it though when it's ready, it was never one of her strong points, L.O.L (Sorry Joy).
I think sourcing the genuine parts is all part of the build, but I never realised how much time you could spend looking for a single item, appreciate the comments w88rdy.
Hi Conad, not a problem with your comments mate, everyone is entitled to say what they feel, your more than welcome to pop down when she's ready, I'll let you know.

    Thanks Keith

    Hi all,
Well I'm almost there, m.o.t on Monday tax and insurance Tuesday, been for a spin today and it was slightly different to driving my vauxhall combo
van!!!!! One thing that almost caught me out was how close the pedals were on the pedal box, I went to brake and was still touching the accelerator
    very foooking scary.
Things left to do include : fit wheels and new tyres
    samco hoses
    carb filters
passenger harness and a few other bits, heres how she looks:

Last few bits to fit this week

The next post will be when she's back on the road, Thursday Friday ? definitely next weekend.

    Thanks guys

    Keith
