I was gonna add even if genuine there's a lot that could happen, problems with paypal accounts aren't exactly rare, losing net access, personal problems taking them away from forums etc for a while, kidnap, spontaneous combustion and whatever you like in between
I always just cover the paypal costs and pay as goods.
