    Default Gte cutting out

    Hi my nova cuts out some times while driving and then won't start for a while does any one know what could be thanks dan

    coil or coil amp,

    plugs getting hot from running lean?

    fuel pump getting hot & cutting out?

    pump relay??

    CTS?

    ign ecu (its the one on the bulkhead)

    bad earth?

    engine overheating

    It runs fine had fuel set up on Thursday and when I took it of ramp and it cut out so checked spark coming from coil so put new coil on it and cut out again today it has also had new cts last week and injectors re built but my wife did say when she followers me and input foot down it puffed a bit of black smoke out thanks dan

    your gte is about 22-24 years old.... of course it will blow some smoke occasionally...

    is the ign switch breaking down?

    is there an aftermarket immobiliser fitted?? as they can be the root cause of a lot of troubles.

    Yeah it has a imobbisor on it and I have got a ing modular on way

    definitely try bypassing the immobiliser.. they are not that reliable.

    dead easy. the electrical bit comes off the back of the barrel quite easily.. but i'm more concerned the immob is the fault, get it tested first.. there will be wires in for

    battery +ve & earth
    the ecu +ve input & output
    the fuel pump +ve input & output
    and the silly sensor & red light..

    its a 2 minute job with a multimeter to check it first.
