checked the plugs and all had oil in them. Then compression test and all 4 cyclinders are down 40 psi. Due to the overheating issue, the noise it's making the misfiring the detonation and the low compression the guys on gt40c think its ringland failure.Originally Posted by Jack

People who describe cars as mint! "Has it had any welding no nothing." "Any rust on the car no none" so I go and take a look. It's had patches underneath plus sills welded on top of other. Wheel arches had shocking repairs. People need to understand the word "mint condition " boils my piss.!!!

It's someone off Gumtree mate. Time wasters lucky I wasnt far away but even so annoys the fuck out of me. People need to be honest when selling anything.
If they're dealing novas they're more or less guaranteed to be time wasters who have no clue about anything
i once travelled all the way to Peterborough to view a nova that had a full mot on it
when I got there the seller wasn't there it was his mate and when I pointed out various fails he shrugged his shoulders.
iv dealt with good lads but mostly jokers who haven't got a fuckin clue,I've scrapped better than they're selling.
my grasser is better than most of the "minters" left.
dodgy brakes in the nova, same in the mini, cracked washer bottle, leaking front shockers, cracked windscreen from just sitting in a garage for 2 weeks........crap paint on wings to be rubber down and done again, that's just the mini, then my cooper has it's MOT tomorrow so we will see what that brings.......
