Default Mk1 sr rear spoiler removal.

Hi, I am needing to remove my rear spoiler as I am replacing it with one that is in better condition. Does anyone have any tips for removing it?

yes, undo the little nuts, then get a sharp scraper under it & loosen the clag that holds it. it will be messy, can't you just redo the old one with bumper paint?

Take the 4 off "nuts" off (pressed spin on) inside the tailgate at the top

carefully lift the edges, maybe start at the bottom and work up, use a blunt pallet knife/scraper to remove the rest of the spoiler held on with double sided sticky tape, so you don't damage the paintwork
    Regards

The old one is blistered and would need rubbing down before painting. I have bought a replacement that is mint.

Cheers I might even try heating it with a hairdryer to soften the tape.

You could try lifting the bottom corner and then running a length of fishing wire underneath (hold one end in each hand) and use it to cut the double sided sticky crap.

considering that a replacement spoiler is being fitted, the finish of the paint underneath is not really an issue
