    Default C20LET Rebuild

Bought this Nova from Chambers on here thursday and it turned up yesterday about 4pm on the recovery truck .

Plans are to turn it back into a car...if it was a original van I would have left it but its not so the windows are going back in. Go over the whole car and check everything and pretty much rebuild the whole lot.
It come with a C20let engine which we soon realised was a converted xe...So first thing was to pull this out and put it all back together and get it running. We were at it until 12 last night but finally she run....for about ten seconds until we realised the fuel pressure was far to low....it had the standard 1.2 single point inj tank so pump wasnt up to the task.
Im going to get an alloy fuel tank and fit it behind the seats, with an uprated fuel pump so that should sort it out.
All of the running gear is fine so not much to do there. We then built the front end back up checking all as we went along.
We then started bolting the cage in (will be welded as well) and then checked the exhaust (powerflow) which needs a straight bit of pipe made and welded which ill do early next week.
Then we cleaned the gsi dash and all the bits ready to go in which we will do in the week.
The re-spray is ok....few bits of pug here and there but nothing major and considering hes not a panel beater hes done a good jog....lots of pigstails in the paint but will flat and polish it back and should be like glass...( he put three coats so loads to play with)
The underneath of the car was pretty much un touched and very clean which I was pleased with.
Heres some pics as she stands and will ad more in the week as we crack on

Not exactly a project I know but will be a good rebuild.

Its ok mate I want to run an alloy race tank in the car anyways , also I would prefer to run new braided fuel lines as these ones aren't really up to the task , thanks anyway

Done some more work on the nova this week. A few parts turned up - alloy fuel tank, window surrounds, willwood brakes :-)
So this week we have done the following:
Bolted the cage in. Fitted the dash. Stripped the old fuel lines and took the old fuel tank out. Completed all of the wiring. Fitted the new brakes. We also cut the van panels out and put some windows back in.
    Heres some pics:

    Cut the panels out

Cleaned it up after savaging it with the grinder

    Painted

    Windows in.

    And how she looks now

Dash (Excuse the steering wheel )

    Willwood brakes

    Fuel Tank

Really pleased with the progress, should be finished next week. As long as the parts turn up :-(

    Comments welcome.
