i have put a 1.6 e16se in my nova and now cant get the rev gauge to work.... i have wired the green wire that USED to be in my coil plug to the new plug but it still doesnt work ??
any ideas?

curtoise, are you using the e16se coil ? or your original??
the ignition controller (which is usually mistakenly called the ecu & bolted to the bulkhead), has a green output for the rev counter
I'm using my 1.4 coil. And I connectet the green wire to my looms green wire and still nothing so I guess I will run it back to the dash
there must be a wire fault.
right i just ran a wire from the green on the coil of my 1.6's plug to the dash and i could see the needle moving but the engine not starting......
i took the wire out of the dash and the engine started but no rev gauge :S fishy!
As mowgli said wiring fault somewhere.
