Decided to give it a mini restoration as the rust was starting to annoy me.

Brought a solid(ish) wing to replace the rotton original

Then took a tub of rust eater and a grinder to the rest of the car

A few coats of zinc primer to help protect the metal

With the new wing in place

Then set about fixing the doors which had also started to rot.

Rather than buy a new pair I cut all the rust out and filled it with fibreglass

Bondo on top did just the job!

Found a couple of holes in the arches so i made some plates and welded them up

A coat of high build primer

I need to get some pics of the whole car as it now looks like new! really chuffed with it! saved alot of money too doing the painting my self, its by no means show condition but perfect for me

Also sneaked in to the Vauxhall herritage centre whilst i was at Vauxhall for work and found these bad boys

to be honest most Novas on this forum are in better condition than theese, bit of a shame considering theyre part of vauxhall's history and theyre letting them rust, probaly a more accurate representaion of vauxhall tho i guess. ha

This is where I am today, Purchased a E16se on twin 40's the other day from here. Supposibly its been tested at 126bhp

Came with a racing clutch and some other nice bits!

Started stripping it, all looks sound so far!

Took apart the altenator and cleaned it up and then sprayed it gold!

    Matt Black Cam Cover

And this is how I left it last

Going to try and document the whole engine rebuild here as I cant seem to find any threads with a step by step of an engine rebuild

    For now Peace out x

    UPDATE!

Port and polished my inlet manifold

Then set about stripping the engine down

Removed the belt and the sprockets to find that it had a kent NVO 62 cam

Removed the head bolts and then took the cam carrier off

Noticed that all of the folllowers had a small mark on them from the cam, its only a small indentation but not sure if they need replacing or not, anyone got any thoughts on the matter??

    Lifted out the lifters

Put the lifters in a clean tub of engine oil to avoid them from draining
