made a little more progress with the car today and came across another problem. got the car to spark finally didn't see the 2 little black wires i had to connect. on the downside i got told that the engines got the wrong timing belt on it causing it to slip when trying to start it so i cant do any more work untill a new belt is put on as it can do some serious damage . on the upside the car should turn on in theory just dont want to risk any more damage atm.
