    Default Marsi's '87 MK1 "Cup"

    Hello to everyone,

me being registered here for about 4 years now just want to present you
    my new project.
    After already having a Corsa A (MK2) and a Corsa A Sedan (MK1) I didn't own a Corsa
    for about 2 years now.
2 weeks ago I bought a Corsa (MK1) that was up for a really good offer.
So that is, where we go:

This Corsa was build in 1987 having an E12GV-engine in it.
Being a "Cup"-edition, this car misses nearly any extras, that were available at
the late eighties. Just have a look at the missing passenger rear mirror.

So far, the Corsa was of the road since 1998 now, what hold him in a really good
condition. Only the driver side rear arch needs a replacement, anywhere else
    the brown pest is missing.
Things I want to change are only a few:
    - adding some clear front indicators
    - adding a new suspension that lowers the car a little
    - mounting some Mattig SSF wheels in 13''
    - adding a new exhaust with more design and sound

Later on, the E12GV-engine will make place for a 13S-engine joining some carburetors.

Last week I mounted an Irmscher body-kit, but I think this will be left for another
    project. I unmounted that afterwards:

Hope you like my Corsa even though it's not a Nova.
I promise to report every progress.

    Regards, Marsi

Looks a nice car to start a project from

I like the Irmscher stuff if you don't like it I'm sure there's a few people that would buy the parts from you

Keep us updated as you build it

Looks like a good start, its clean.

Is that red car in the background a Kadett GSi ?

Or would it be called an Astra over there ?

    Hi,

yes Lewi, you're right, that is what we call an Astra GSI. There are at least 3 of them at our garage. They are getting rare here in Germany also.

I like that Irmscher kit as well. But as I said, this will be build on another Corsa I am planing to rebuild.
To sell this kit would be no alternative to me. It took me a long time to complete this set due to it getting rare in Germany as well.

    EDIT:

This afternoon I got the wheels I was looking for. I suppose my fellow tricked on me, because that seem not to be Mattig-SSF wheels,
but I think, that doesn't matter so far:

Now the car needs to be lowered a lot, I think 80 mm at the front and 60 mm at the rear will do a good job for it.

Some updates of the last few days:

    - lowered the car with a FK-suspension, but needs to be lowered a bit more at the front
    - installed white front indicators (brand new ones)
    - installed british tail light on the left
    - installed a nice exhaust
    - got the car cleaned again and
    - got the hood polished

Further on I got a frame for VDO-gauges that fits the radio-frame. The gauges itselves
    will follow next week.

Looks good man, one thing i noticed with Opel Corsa A and Vauxhall Nova.

If you look on the tailgate the rear window wiper is on the left hand side on the Opel, and the right hand side on the Vauxhall, i think it must be to go with the driver position, rhd and lhd.
