Building an Engine the Haynes way.
I've decided to build my engine the Haynes way.
I got two halves of a piston, the gudgeon pin and Con Rod.
Carefully placed the pin through the small end of the Con Rod and snap the two halves of piston in place, like so.
Repeat for all four pistons.
Using the End Caps and screws in the above picture, I installed the piston/Con Rod assemblies onto the crank shaft.
With the engine block on the "bench" I located the pistons into the cylinders (note piston rings are not needed)
With the lower Crank Case/Sump Pan screwed together and mounted on the stand.
I then carefully located the engine block onto the lower crank case making sure the crank locates correctly.
Secured together with the correct screws at the correct torque.
Next step building the head.......
