Default enclosed or ported for hardest/loudest BASS ?

which bass box would give me the loudest/hardest bass that people could hear from down the road, enclosed or ported

im thinking of getting a 12" 800watt kicker comp vr sub.

I listen to r&b, drum and bass, dance music techno etc

i just want heavy bass !!!!!!!!!

i reckon that a 12" sub like the one i mentioned shouldnt be too bad at keeping up with the fast bassline of dance.

nope it wont m8!!!! u will be better off buying 2 10" subs for the kind of music u listen to!!

A ported box is usually louder than sealed but you get a better sound out of a sealed box

or if youve not got the boot space then just buy a single 10, try one ov the kicker square ones, just make sure u buy a decent amp to go with it

Oh yeah, if you hear a car from the outside sounding load, this will mean that the car hasnt been sound deadened properly and the sound inside will be crap

A 12" will keep up with the kind of music you like if in the right sized enclosure. You will need to use a sealed box for it though. If you use a ported box for a Comp VR it will go louder but the bass will get more muddled and less responsive.

If you want other people to hear you, ported is the way, as it will be louder. But in my opinion it doesnt sound good - no control, no punch.

Also if you are trying to wake up the neighbours, it usually means a poor set up, as the sound is escaping the car, and not letting you listen to it in the car. In another words, its inefficient.

A sealed 12, with a powerful amp to drive it is wot you need, i think. Something like an Alpine SWR-1241D with their new MRP-M350 amp.

Dont know much a bout Kicker stuff, but make sure if you want a ported box, its suitable. Ported boxes usually have to be bigger too, and if isnt the right size, you will blow the sub.
