Thanks Benn, it was Lewis' and I bought the car off him in 2014. As he already had a project thread I just carried it on.

So it's been a while since I last updated. Basically I have been very busy with other hobbies, commitments and work.
Some already know I have still been busy rectifying faults and improving the old girl.
I wanted a different exhaust and the only way to do that was to fit an internal shifter. So that's what I did.
While doing that I found this..
But I got on with the job in hand.
I wanted to raise it slightly to help with gear changes etc. I made this little platform that did the job nicely and also makes it easier to put back to standard if I ever choose too.
Once I did all of that I lost interest, enjoyed Christmas and and the new year. Part way into January I stripped a set of V6 calipers I had laying around and refurbished them.
Fitted using the V6 pads and a set of Meriva 280mm discs using 56.6-60.1mm spigot rings to centre them properly.
Oh and sourced another set of rims to fit my new slicks for drag racing.

Once that lot was done I tackled the rotten floor.
I hate welding cars!
The passenger side was sadly worse.

To hold the brake pipes on.
All done
Keep rub down and a coat of primer.
Followed by 2K black.
Managed to source a 3 inch down pipe locally. Very happy with the fit.
Rebuilt the dash, pedal box and heater set up.
Fitted and set up the linkage. Feels nice!

Now finally, the reason I wanted to run an internal shifter was because I wanted to run an exhaust bypass. This is how I did it.
New wide band fitting.
Chavtastic.
Now it's fitted and works, just ordered one last bend to make the loud part point downwards.
I am looking forward to trying it on the road, basically when the valve is closed the exhaust runs three boxes and slowly tapers down to a two inch system.
With the valve open it runs from a three inch down pipe through a 2.5x12 inch box and then out the valve and that's it.
Performance should increase and if nothing else it will sound mega.
Dan.

So, it's now back together at last. Quite happy with the overall look of the internal shifter.
And I haven't had to cut the carpet at all.
The shifter feels nice and fairly direct. Being higher helps too!
I am having an issue with the rose jointed linkage catching the steering rack in 5th gear so I will need to modify that slightly.
I have since taken the car to work and cleaned up the underside.
Once cleaned up with a wire wheel and sander I etch primed the underside.
Then gravitex.
Back on the floor, just requires a 2K black top coat.

Nice work . I take it your just going to fit a vac solinoid to move the actuator?
Thanks.
Yes, I have fitted a turbo solenoid off a diesel Vauxhall. It's on a dash switch. Works well!
