1.4 16v Wont Start/Fire...

Im sorry.. i know its a corsa.. but

Ive got a 1.4 16v sport which i recently put a engine in...

Engine was running sweet as a nut until it run out of petrol up my yard were it was kept, ive recently put £6 from jerry can into the tank and now it just turns over but dont fire?

And i cant really smell any fuel getting upto engine... and the bleed nipple bit dont let out any fuel?

So any idea what could be the problem?

I havnt tryed that mate.... i imagine so.. as it hasnt been started in the last week due to the weather etc.. it just run out of petrol and was left there.. till today.. but there defo is NO petrol getting to the fuel rail/injectors, as it dont smell of petrol and that bleed nipple dont even let any out.

Mine done this the other week after I run it out of fuel. My mate told me to put a jump pack on it and just keep cranking it with the throttle fully open and it did eventually fire. Hope this helps

oh rite... fair enough... needs to get a jump pack from somewere there must be one in the yard somewere. i will have ago in the morning.. see whats what, battery is on charge at the mo though.

Doubt its that, Id check fuses, and then the fuel pump relay.

If its not them, your be needing a new fuel pump.

sounds like fuel pump issues, id jack the back up and thump the bottom of the tank, pump might be jammed with the cold??

id say its the cold weather to mine done this but when the frost went away it was fine

It hasnt been frezzing here as such today its been 4degrees, to be honest.. one way to test the pump would be to take the filter of wouldnt it? and turn it over, see if anything comes out?

But it defo was fuel, because it konked out and didnt work again, it was turning over and not firing and then sometimes attempting to fire but obviously no fuel in there didnt make it fire..

Ive changed the fuel pump relay (purple one) and didnt do nothing different, i think i herd it clicking on and of as such with ignition.

Would the filter not of got blocked up????

ive got it started this morning, i think it was to do with the filter, as i took that of, and it was still pumping fuel through... but turnt back of again after 10mins of running, and was hard to start again, it would start then die again... then take key out put back in.. and it would fire again... strange stuff.. all time u keep revs up... it would be ok...

and eml would flash other times as well... as though imob was stoping it for some reason..
