    Default mk3 astra problem

    basically every now and then when i switch it off the clock and headunit stay powered and i have to re-start the engine and switch it off again to kill the power to them, any ideas as to what it could be? its only started doing it the past couple of days

    Dicky ignition switch/black box, are they not meant to keep power to the stereo feed until the key is removed like newer vaux's do, ive not actually had an Astra so i dont know

    cheers spud, yeah, before this intermittent problem the radio would stay on until i removed the key, a quick google search told me with age the ignition switch can ware out

    this problem has now gone one step further and has killed off my battery

    sounds silly but check the earth from the 'box to the shell, that killed the electrics on my 206

    changed battery and all is now fine (touches wood )

    its also cured another niggle i had with it
