Default Advice on polishing my car...

Right i am a right lazy fooker but seriously need to give my car a decent wash and possibly polish, but the be assed factor is very low.

Can anyone recommened a decent polish which does not require me sweating like a peado on a rape charge for 4 hours to get it done.

If there was some dodgy east european who would polish it for £20 i would go down that route but there isnt round here.

    ps its black!

Also if anyone can break down best way to get the best finish would be appreciated, eg wash, polish, wax or other way round etc.

cost is not really the restriction its more the effort, if a polish is £20 and much easier to use than £2 stuff then thats what i will get.

Lmfao, diamondbrite, superguard, gard-x are all bollox, they only last till you give it another decent wash this is all!

You want to be looking at stuff from the Megs range or Auto glym, ive used megs tech wax i think it was, on a black nova in direct sunlight (panel by panel obviously) and it came off fine and looked awesome!

The trick is to getting a good finish is to clean it properly/thoroughly, it will need to be washed and clay barred if its not been done for a while then washed again and waxed/polished, thats about as far as i would go if youre not planning on becoming a 'detailer'

They cry if you call them valeters . Detailer is where it's at!

I agree though, a load of bollocks!

LOL @ superguard, that stuff is indded tosh & shame on anyone that gets conned into paying £300 or whatever dealers blag for it.

I was given a load & the trim spray sent all my black plastics white!

I'm a fan of claying, then polishing & as for wax, despite all the new & jazzy types, a tub of olde fashined Turtle wax is hard to beat. You know, round tin youlever open with a big screwdriver. Smells lush!

The main thing is not to forget tyres & windows. A clean car with dirty tyres & windows still looks filthy IMO.
