    no from cold browney

    it starts but hesitates at 1st and flicks like its got an earth fault. but there all fine

    You checked the earth on the fuel rail, does sound like a crank sensor fault aswel

    There piss cheap on ebay now

    yeh i have an earth going from the alt bracket to fuel rail, the one on left hand side of fuel rail attached. then the 2 on the right hand side.

    also one on the box to the chassis leg.

    yes was a 1.0 will it most likely be the crank sensor than? where abouts is it and how do i change it thanks alot for the help

    open the bonnet facing the car, bottom left hand side of the engine. just under the thermostat ish

    held on by 1 x 8mm bolt iirc

    Where have you got your switched live from?

    As the switched live for the coil, is around 6/8v on a 1.0

    Try running a wire to the + switched, from the purple on the wiper motor. This is a switched 12v supply.

    Same as the reverse light, but has a bigger feeder wire

    make sure you haven't got the coil wired to the 1.0 coil feed, the 1.0 coil operates at a lower voltage. Ignore matt an put a proper switched feed in if that's the case.
