Yeah definately, its easy to get fed up and to lose confidance and inspiration - im familiar with that, ha ha! I had a white GTE about 11 years ago, but have recently got the bug again, after owning/restoring a mk2 Xr2, a widebody Mitsubishi Starion Turbo, and a Nissan S14 200SX - ive decided i want something a bit old skool so im looking at getting/building a Nova again! (Famous last words.....!) Id love to do a C20LET but wont really have the funds to do it all in 1 go, and i want to use the car while i slowly build it (if you know what i mean) so i mite go the route of buying a road ready mk2, maybe a basic 1.2 and upgrade all the brakes/suspension etc as this can be done relatively easily, and then drop a redtop in once i have time to do the change and the said engine ! 11-12years ago, the redtop/turbo conversions werent quite as common, and were alot more expensive than thye are now - otherwise i would have loved to have done it then. A friend had C20LET in his mk2 and it was absolutely awesome - 1 of the nicest/quickest cars ive been in (and im a mechanic/technician for a raceteam !)

Anyhow, good luck with the build mate, itl be great to see once its all done!

Holly Jesus you seem to have your hands on some tidy motors mate but you do a nova as there getting rarer and parts are getting expencive if you do all work apart from engine will save a lot of hassle in future and atleast will just leave the conversion to do

    Cheers mate

Yeah thats the plan, im looking for a running mk2 now, and then ill fit brakes/suspension once ive got the car, then when i wana do the conversion, i can do any repairs/strengthening etc and hopefully have a tidy car to play with. There arent too many decent mk2's around at the mo, they seem to be either mint and stupid money, or cheap and a complete pile of poo...! I dont mind doing a bit of fabrication/tidying up, and anything mechanical is fine.
