i dont own a soldering iron so i cant solder anything till i can borrow one off my mate anyway so for the time being it will do
i just need to be pointed into the right direction of what the problem may be

its like there isnt any power to the ecu/coil
so it must be a ign. live problem but if anyone else has a good idea of what it could be then would be nice to see what you think

ok. undo your ecu plug, undo the silver screw and the 2 smaller brass ones. the central part with the pins will now prise out. if you look at the side where all the wires go in, there are pin numbers at the edge, your looking for pin 28. its a black wire in the middle row. if you have 12v at this with the ign switched on or cranking, the wiring is ok, if not its your ign live to the ecu. also check pin 18, a large red in the first row. i will take pics tomorrow.if all this is ok, its a sensor issue, as the ecu will be powering up ok, or the ecu will be goosed.

sure can, bought an engine that was running fine in the car, fitted it to corsa and the starter was goosed

You're missing something mega simple then, have you asked nobby how he had it wired?

how about it was involved in a serious accident, wires could have so easily got shorted out and fried something

best advice im gonna give is, get nobby down to look at it.

nobby is like 2 hours away

if all else fails il just buy a new loom and ecu
and start again with the wiring
