    update

yet again a long period of no work on the car, but an update none the less.

started off by doing a few little touches, got the grill badge painted in the matching grey as the grill/skirts/window surrouns etc. no pic of this unfortunately. the door check straps got a coat of satin black along with some shiny cap head bolts.

also painted the expansion bottle cap, unsure if i should do it grey (which might clash with the bottle) or i need to paint the oil cap black too. (see down for pic of that)

the spare set of dash clocks i bought had all faded on the red sections, as it was the traces on the back of the old clocks that had failed i swapped the gauges from that one to this, alot more vivid in colour.

got most of the dash back assembled, need to get some new bolts for the momo steering wheel as i only ever had 3 last time it was on the road. .

removed the o/s/r wheel as this one never had a new uniroyal rainsport 2 on it, had a second hand tyre to tie me over untill i could afford another rainsport, will get that done tomorrow and put the proxie on the spare wheel. with the wheel off i could try it in the spare wheel well, need to make up so way of holding it in place. so i got some m8 threaded bar which i had around to try on the standard screw cap that holds the wheel down, its the same thread, result!

all i need to do know is cut it down to the correct length and bolt it in.

after this i had a squint at the exhaust to try find an easy solution to making it fit. slackened off the clamp and rotated it so it came out where it should on the bumper, im still not a fan of how it comes out, too much of an angle. if i left it there then all id have to do is move the mounting bracket and caress the join line in on the silencer as it hits the tyre. either that or ill have to trailer it over to the exhaust shop to do it again, way too much hassle. hmmm

also need to lift the one corner of the bumper up as its slanted.

the front bumper has been cut some more to make it fit, is pretty good now so can go to paint soon, got the bonnet back on and lined up. i was going to stick the bonnet lifters back on but im not feeling them, i may stick with the stay for now.

more to come, thanks for looking

how else do you remove the door if yours a welded on? got the 2 normal pins that the door sits up on then the check strap that holds the door open.
