Proper size wheel, not something a salesmen thought was a good idea

So why aren't you on 24" then...... Since 26" was clearly fresh marketing waaaay back.

29er is just a terrible idea IMO

Granted, possibly a little better up hill, but awful through the tight narrow stuff

Better all round on road, then if anyone is using it for that they should of got a road bike in the first place

    29er v 26 is like ARB v no ARB

They are actually worse on climbs (to some extent in terms of speed as opposed to grip) but don't let facts spoil you're hate

The Boardmans are decent enough, just carry the halfords stigma... New ones get released in august from what I've been told.

Have to disagree on that one, myself and at least three or four others all ride retro, and we often play 'catch/beat the modern bikes' on the trails, we nail them on the climbs, and we're usually passing them, or staying with them on the singletrack/twisties!

My strava times even back up my mates theory, that im faster off-road on my rigid '93 Lava Dome, than on my '98 caldera with front suspension
