Default C20let Pistons R They ****ed???????

hi all need some advice i have bought a set of C20LET pistons (£40)
first question is have i been ripped off?
secondly are they ok to still use?
and lastly - the reason i bought them is because i am building a 2.0 8 valve TURBO using a Garret T3/T4, i have seen it has been done before on other vaux sites and know i need to lower compresion. Hense the LET pistons but will the fit into the bottom end of the 2.0 8valve????????? i have been told yes but no so sure my self.

all advice much needed and apprciated thank you

Looks as if they have had some valve loving!

I wouldnt use them personally, but they will probably be OK.

Cambelt probably cam off if all are marked? When my valve guide broke up I reused the piston, but it was weakened and actually cracked with a month....

Thats preety unlucky for it to do all of them

Id be wary about using them like will says. When you bought them was the damage mentioned?

Looks like some major valve contact. When my 8 exhaust ones kissed the pistons on my LET it was nowhere near that bad, just shined them up a bit.

I definitely wouldn't use them, they will all give a slightly different volume for a start as the damage is different on all of them and they will probably have been weakened.

yup the cambelt snapped on that one by the looks of it, if there was no mention of the damage then return them, if there was clean them up and try getting an engineering company with ultrasound kit to check it over see if there are any cracks in them. If not i would imagine that they would be ok to use.

for the cost of getting them checked out buy another set. i can ask a couple of lads who i trust to see what they have if want.

the rods.pistons wil fit in the block too(think thats what you asked too wasnt it?) the blocks are virtually the same besides a relief in the top of the block i think. not 100%

just ask my mate, he said they have been hit hard and might have hairline cracks.

you can see its been quite a whack and not just something small. so i wouldnt use them
