use the money to buy a f28.

personally, I love plate diffs, and dislike the way an ATB works for my driving style.

its tricky, but see if you can blag a go in cars with both types fitted.

i would have agreed with you if you asked me in the first few weeks of getting it fitted, i didnt suit how i drive at all but to my surprise you get used to how it works and its got me out of a far few tricky situations..

the only thing i used to find hard was, when in said sticky moment having to tell ya brain to plant it . i drove my mates nova the other day with no diff and i was shocked at how much the diff actually does do.. other than the cornering it kills alot of torque steer..

ATB diffs are great. You get no torquesteer and they are a fit and forget item.
Plate diffs are better for track/race use. They produce more torquesteer though and also need setting up and maintaining.

So you need to ask yourself do I want ultimate performance and don't care about maintenance and seetting up. Or do I want to sacrifice some performance and fit the thing then forget about it.

Both types of diff have their advantages and disadvantages. I have an ATB diff and I am happy with it.

ive bought the quaife. and i have an f28. im using the car for dragging mostly and sprints. the diff ive bought is in an f20 with a deawoo gear set and a straight cut crown wheel and pinion. apperantly its very close tho. i bought the whole lot cheaper than i could find a diff.
