    Default My Mustard Yellow SR

Always wanted to make a thread but never did get round to it.
I bought this car in July 2007 off the bay, already had a previous Nova which was a more door saloon. I couldnt resist this buy because it was only sitting at £500 so i took it home for it

Got to work on ditching the clear front indicators and rear clusters and puotting back to original, also stumbling apon theese Astra alloys, Want to do them in a lighter colour not black!

After that i wanted more power so i bought up some twin 40's and was going to tune up the little engine, But this was my every day car and with fuel prices on the rise i wasnt sure, but then kitt_1972 (Scott Kitteringham) the on ethat used to own the blue nova van took me out in his redtop nova van and it was the first time i had been in one, so i was hooked, I had to have obn in mine, so i got on te bay and stumbled on it for £150 only because he advertised it as "Cavalier Engine"!

So naturally i cleaned it all up replacing a few gaskets ( have to admit didnt stay clean for long, they really do piss oil!

So waited for a few months find the best time to start work and where to do it as my driveway is slopped, Found out the girlfriends rents were going away on holiday, and there drive was perfect, so i put up a Kazebo and it was rainging all week and got started!

The after ripping it the usual came along with the welding and painting

Looking good so far mate :D

Personally I think it needs the sr alloys back on as the Astra ones don't suit it. Maybe because they are black. Also how come you haven't spayed the door bottoms black at the same time you did the bumpers???

    Keep up the good work

You should be able to fit the SR wheels on without shaving them. Have you tried them? I've had a set of 14" sr steelies on mine and at the minute have 14" 4 spokes on, and mine have all fitted over the 16v brakes :D

Wheel choice basically something fitting with the era of the car, nothing too new. Or just spray your astra wheels silver
